A CIRANO Researcher since 2019, Jean Dubé is Associate Professor at the École supérieure d'aménagement du territoire et du développement régional (ÉSAD) at Université Laval. He is also Director of the École supérieure d'aménagement et de développement (ÉSAD), Holder of the Chaire leadership en enseignement - développement régional et économique (CLE-DRÉ), Associate Instructor at the Quebec inter-University Centre for Social Statistics (QICSS), Guest Professor at the Urbanisation Culture Société Research Centre of the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) and at the Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR), as well as Director of the Doctoral Program in land use planning and regional development, francophone editor for the Canadian Journal of Regional Sciences (CJRSS) and associate editor of the Revue d'économie régionale et urbaine.

Holding a Ph.D. in Land Use Planning and Regional Development from Université Laval, his research interests include local and regional economic development, employment, factors influencing real estate prices, public policy analysis, territorial dynamics and modelling.

He worked at the Ministère des Finances du Québec (MFQ) from 2002 to 2005, before becoming a Professor at the Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR) from 2010 to 2014 and then Associate Professor at Université Laval.

He is the author of several scientific publications on regional development and real estate and of a book specializing in spatial statistics.
